“We’re busy trying to prepare for her funeral. We hope everything is going to be alright. As a family were concenerd but we are going to release a media statement regarding this matter,” said family spokesperson Balungile Gumede.

Gumede was hospitalised at the Wentworth Hospital in Durban where she died on Sunday.

Mampintsha had also suffered a stroke and was receiving medical attention at Durdoc Hospital in Durban when he died 24 December last year.

A fierce Gumede is known for not beating around the bush and for speaking her mind especially on matters related to Mampintsha marriage.

During Mampintsha’s memorial service held at EThekwini Community Church (ECC) Gumede appeared frail .

She and her daughter-in-law, Bongekile, “Babes Wodumo” Simelane, smoked a peace pipe in public during the funeral of Mampintsha ending years of apparent feud.
