The late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu’s regiment leader, Mgilija has gone against the government healthy protocols to restrict the number of people who will be at the official send off his Majesty on Wednesday night.
The King will be laid to rest at the Mkwakhethomthandayo Royal Palace on Wednesday night according to his wishes and instructions but due to Covid-19 protocols, a limited number of amabutho will be allowed to attend.
But Mgilija has gone in public to urge all regiments to come out on their numbers to pay their last respects to the king.
“We are going to KwaLinduzulu right now… at the stadium (where they will gather before proceeding to the palace). I call on all of the amabutho in their entirety to be there, I their coordinator say so. I am on my way to KwaLinduzulu right now,” says Mgilija in a video that’s gone viral on social media.
“They must come in their entirety. I don’t care about being arrested, I will find other detainees in the cells. I will not be the first one there.
“We can’t be denied our right to pay our last respects to the king when we have always been by his side. We can’t be denied at this last juncture by the government, they can go to hell for all I care. They must arrest all of us.”
